Requirements

1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/b/brasero, available for all supported architectures

2. Rationale:'xubuntu CD burner'. We have dropped xfburn which was unmaintained upstream. Brasero is active, working and is a more or less official GNOME project (svn, bugzilla) . Xubuntu now include libgnome bits if there's no GTK only alternative that is friendly and usable

3. Security:

   • No CVE entries.
   • No Secunia history.
   • No binaries running as root or suid/sgid.
   • Does not open any port.

4. Quality assurance:

   • Package works out of the box without configuration.
   • No showstopper Debian bugs.
   • Good maintenance in Debian, although the Ubuntu package is ahead.
   • Active upstream.

   • No critical bugs in http://bugzilla.gnome.org

   • Does not deal with exotic hardware which we cannot support.

5. Standards compliance:

   • Standard packaging, standard patch system.

   • All in main.
