Concept

The Lubuntu Artwork Team is pleased to announce the brand new Saucy Salamander theme. While it's not finished (always polishing!) you can see, more or less, how the elements explore the salamander world. We're going greener (don't we save energy?), lighter, faster and more beautiful.

Wallpaper

Panel

The menu button has been improved, increased the Lubuntu logo and sharpened. Now it's more visible, even in higher monitor resolutions.

Controls

Again, but small improvements and fixes. Colour has been changed a bit, everything's cleaner and readable. Also, because Light Themes from Ubuntu changed, thus Lubuntu default too, specially on GTK3.

Openbox

Answering a community suggestion (bug #1194261), the Openbox buttons have been increased a bit (only 1px) as well as the padding between them, so they're now more accessible, easy to click and not grotesque. For those who liked the small version, it's still there

Icons

A revamped and more consistent icon theme is planned for this release. Also, we plan to finish all the 3rd party apps that we could make, without disregarding the system ones (more mime types like ogg video, etc). If you want to make additional icons for your apps, matching the Box theme, you can follow the Box style guidelines.
