Maintainer of a Universe package (Pastebinit) BR
Involved in the "Phoenix project" (see below) BR
Linux-Neuchâtel "Phoenix" project
I'm currently working on a project which goals are to sell computers at hardware+installation costs, what means around 200 swiss franc (~160$) with monitor+decent hardware+mouse+keyboard shipping and installation fees included.BR They will be installed on Ubuntu (I'm working with Edgy for that) with some little modifications.BR I'm personally working on the installation part, doing a fully automated installation CD-Rom (using debian-installer preseed scripts) and updating the CD-Rom to include some custom software from Universe as well as the latest updates.BR The goal is to give a re-installation CD-Rom with the computers which will reinstall the computers without caring if the computer has or not an internet connection at the moment of the installation and without asking any question (the target public isn't computer expert)
Last things I did / I'm doing for Ubuntu
- Try to show people that there's something else than Windows and that Linux is now quite easy to use.
- Testing Edubuntu and Ubuntu Feisty (I reported 5-6 bugs and confirmed some others)
- A little bit of French translation for Ubuntu (more reviewing in fact)
Making an iso image for the Ubuntu alternate CD that includes the "swiss french" patch, then the swiss french users can install with their keyboard. (http://www.stgraber.org/?p=5) (fixed in Feisty)
- Starting writing a little bit of python (looks like it's the most used language for ubuntu tools)
Writing a Pastebin command line client (http://www.stgraber.org/?cat=5) (now in Feisty Universe)
- Attended remotely some BOF sessions at UDS MTV (using SIP) (I'm CET timezone, so it was quite funny)
- Answer question, listen to people and meetings on IRC (a really good way to learn I think)
- Doing some Linux+Ubuntu introduction at school
Talk about Ubuntu on my blog (now part of http://ubuntuweblogs.org)
- Trying to integrate an Edubuntu server into an existing Windows Domain, the users will be able to connect to the server either by booting on LAN (LTSP) or from Windows using a X server and ESD. They will be able to access their datas stored on the Windows servers and using their Windows authentication informations.
BoF I contributed remotely (VOIP)
[https://features.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/edubuntu-network-auth-server edubuntu auth server] (more listening in fact and commenting a bit)
[https://features.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/feisty-login feisty login]
[https://features.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/student-control-panel-upgrade edubuntu student control panel]
What do I do with computers except Ubuntu?
- Server admin on some dedicated servers (mainly game servers)
- Write some software using C# (More on Windows for school, but I'm also using Mono sometimes)
- Working on some websites (PHP coder)
- Doing a lot of more or less useful PERL scripts
And in real life ?
I'm 17 years old, using Linux for around 7 years. I'm a second year student at the CPLN in Neuchâtel, learning computers.

I approve Stéphane's application, he was the one who introduced me to Linux and Ubuntu by the same way. I learned quite a lot about Linux and free softwares in general with him. Romain Bajeux
