About Me

I'm a Linux user since mid of the year 2007/2008, when I started a superior course in computer networking technology in CEFET-PB (nowadays known as IFPB - Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba). Before college, I had always been interested in the philosophy behind the Linux and then, came the curiosity to use it on my computer, a simpleton AMD Sempron 2.8 GHz with just 256 MB of RAM and 40 GB of storage on a IDE disk.

My first experience with Linux was in a class of 'Introduction to Open Systems' . The system that was used on those machines was Debian Etch and then, I began to learn and definitely love Linux. I have started to use Kurumin Linux in my desktop and i've used it for some time until switch it to Debian.

In 2008 my desktop received some upgrades and due this, i've installed Ubuntu 7.10 and i am using Ubuntu Linux since then. My Launchpad account was created in 2008 too.

We can describe my years with Ubuntu in this graph:

2008

Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid

Old and slow AMD Sempron Dekstop

2009

Intrepid

Old and slow AMD Sempron Desktop

2009

Jaunty and Karmic

Dell Inspiron 1428

2010

Karmic, Lucid and Maverick

Dell Inspiron 1428

2011

Maverick and Natty

Dell Inspiron 1428

2012

Oneiric and Precise

Samsung 300E4A-AD1

2012

Precise

Dell Inspiron 14z

2013

Precise, Raring and Saucy

Dell Inspiron 14z

2014

Saucy and Trusty

Dell Inspiron 14z

Note that the only Ubuntu version which i haven't used for a while was the 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal). I don't know exactly the reason but it was probably due to the rock solid 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) that was running very fine in my Samsung laptop and after, in my Dell Ultrabook. I started to use Unity Desktop at 12.04 and i've really liked it.

I worked for some years as systems administrator for a Hosting Company and most of my work was related to Linux servers and open source web applications (like Joomla, WordPress and Drupal) security. Now I am working as systems analyst for a health plans company.
