I have been a consumer of Open Source software and Linux since 1999, and I have switched to Ubuntu, and I and looking for ways to get involved and contribute back to the community and the distribution itself.

I am a Network Administrator for a software company, and at work I deal with mostly Windows based servers, however, at home it's a different story, I'm strictly Linux based except for my sole XP Virtual I use to connect back to the office!

I'm not a programmer, I don't know any programming languages (aside from a little HTML, but I'm open to learning anything), however I have always had a huge interest in the Linux Kernel itself. Not in actually "programming" the kernel, but it helping track down bugs, solve problems with drivers, power management and other assorted ailments of kernels.

If I ever boot a strange distro in a LiveCD the absolute first thing I do is check out the Kernel config - I have to see how they have it set up.

I'm very much a hardware guy - I started my career as a PC Technician, and I grew up learning how to make stuff work in computers, mostly on my own. I think that is why the Kernel interests me so much.
