I have been a consumer of Open Source software and Linux since 1999, and I have switched to Ubuntu, and I and looking for ways to get involved and contribute back to the community and the distribution itself.
I am a Network Administrator for a software company, and at work I deal with mostly Windows based servers, however, at home it's a different story, I'm strictly Linux based except for my sole XP Virtual I use to connect back to the office!
I'm very much a hardware guy - I started my career as a PC Technician, and I grew up learning how to make stuff work in computers, mostly on my own. I think that is why the Kernel interests me so much.
My huge area of interest is in the area of Virtualization Technologies. It is something I got interested in at my Job, and it has carried over into home. I'm always exploring new technologies and techniques to improve performance for both host and guests. I'm now at work actively involved in a project migrating both physical and vmware based servers to Xen.
On the personal side, I love KVM and use it extensively with Ubuntu on my personal machine.
I enjoy helping others learn their way around Ubuntu and Linux in general by answering questions on the forums, IRC, Mailing Lists and on https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+questions
My blog is at http://jaysonrowe.wordpress.org if you desire to read my thoughts.
