About Me
ok here we go. still new to this but this is me. currently 41, married with 2 kids, one girl-9 years old, and one boy just under a year. my first computer was a commodore 64 my freshman year in high school which was 1984. basically a keyboard you plug into your tv and a tape recorder you used for memory really high tech at the time but a joke now. got an apple IIe my senior year in high school had to learn a bunch of basic code for that (real fun stuff). then nothing for a few years untill windows 3.1 and dos, then 95, then 98, never saw me or any of the others but then xp vista and 7. did a lot of work with windows mostly virus removals, tune ups and upgrades. no programming at all. just started learning linux and ubuntu. love it so far. and just started learning python thanks to the guidance of my master starcraft.man. I am currently using Ubuntu version 10.10 Maverick Meerkat which is freekin awesome compared to the windows versions i have used. My goal is to learn how to program, and to help people which is one of the reasons i love the Ubuntu community. I have recently joined the Speech control and Speech control development group. it looks to be alot of fun and i cant wait to continue learning and helping others.
My Involvement with the Ubuntu Community
I am still new to the ubuntu community but do enjoy working with the people i have met in the groups following:
Ubuntu Beginners
I am not actually a member here yet but am working with my master starcraft.man, who is teaching me alot. my closest goal probably is to become a full member here and help others to learn of the beautiful world that is Ubuntu.
Speech control and Speech control developers
I just became of member of the Speech control family and am very much looking forward to working with this group. It has always been a passion of mine to help others in need. I even worked as a CNA for a while.
California Team
This is actually the first team i became a member of. Originally it was just to get to know others who were using ubuntu. Then i found out about all these other groups. havent actually met any of the other users outside of the irc but i hope to someday.
Also dont forget first monday of month Ubuntu hour in vallejo at the starbucks in vallejo corners shopping center on admiral callaghan blvd.
Current Projects & Goals
I am currently learning python and am hungry to learn more if I can. I just started with speech control i cant wait to become productive with them.
