about me

I installed Ubuntu about two (2) months before Ibex came out. A friend of mine was messing around with Fedora and he really liked it. Like me he comes from a desktop publishing background. We both like the macintosh OS and do not enjoy using Windows. So his vote of confidence in Linux had me intrigued. I had an old Toshiba laptop sitting around that I was not using, mostly because it had Windows on it. I installed Ubuntu and within the first few minutes I knew I was on to something. I installed Ubuntu as a dual boot and left XP on the machine, just in case. As the next few weeks went on the Windows partition got smaller and smaller. Iii liked Ubuntu so much that for the first time in my life I bought a computer that was not a macintosh. Now I had Linux and it was possible to have a totally pleasurable experience on a computer that cost less than two thousand dollars. Needless to say I am hooked.
