Introduction
History
I have BSc in Computer Science but unfortunately, I have never used Linux until 2009. Definitely, I have heard about it and if I remember correctly, we have studied it at college but never got the chance to use it, simply because I had no Internet Access - it's a long story
I used to play a facebook-game called My Heroes Ability (MHA) - which is disconnected/dead now - and a friend of mine who used to play that game too was the one who introduced me to Linux and at that time, it was Ubuntu 9.10. I used it for one or two weeks then I stopped and wasn't that much interested.
Got tons of free time in August 2010 and I decided to give it a try and since that time, I simply can't be away one day far from Linux. I was first Dual-Booting or Multi-Booting with Windows but NOT anymore
Starting from August 2011, I decided to join LXDE and Lubuntu Team and do my best to contribute, help and support these two great projects to grow bigger and bigger.
Light vs Darkness
No matter how long a dark cold night will last, eventually a bright warm day shall come and win the endless battle between them. My story is no exception. I had lived in darkness for 10 years. Nothing was special or unique. Start my PC, Start waiting until the desktop shows up, Start a program, Start seeing some error messages and Start thinking to format, etc. Endless headache that Start but never End.
Then ...
I have seen the light and breathed new fresh air. Since then, I have never looked back.
Linux has changed my life dramatically. I still can’t believe it. I used to hate Reading while now, I enjoy that a lot. Never thought to Keep It Short and Simple. Was wrong about many things whether it’s Computer Related or Real-Life Related matters. And the list is really long. ALL that has changed with Linux. I feel like I’m born again.
One of the most important things that helped to change me was: Ubuntu Forum and This Article. I'm so thankful to the Forum and to the one who posted the link of that article. Since that time, I'm spending many hours on the forum. It's such a great place to learn and help others and I do enjoy doing both.
