Nice to see that you are using moin

• upgrade to moin 1.2.3 is highly recommended due to some acl/wrong permissions problem
• your theme: if you log in, the iconbar is gone
• the site seems to have some iso8859-1 / utf-8 confusion, be aware that utf-8 mostly works, but is not very well supported in 1.2.x
  • if you change config.charset to "utf-8", you need to convert system and help pages from iso8859-1 to utf8 or some non-ascii pages/pagenames will look funny

• with AntiSpamGlobalSolution active, you could consider allowing anonymous edits

  • We actually disabled anonymous edits so that we would have a record of who did what, rather than to deal with the Spam problem. - ThomMay

    • Ah, ok. Well, think about it. The regulars here could (and would) use login even if anon edits are permitted. When I accidently visit some wiki and find some typos or other minor stuff, I usually don't feel like creating an account for a single edit. If you require it, you will usually lose those contributions.

Assimilation Strategy

First step in joining the community is to become a Ubuntu user but most users stop there when they could become something more, they can become Ubuntu developers. Most of them feel they lack the necessary skills unaware that programming is something that could be learned easily. Most of the users who do know a little bit of programming are still just users because they don't know where to insert themselves. There should be a list with insertion points in the Ubuntu development. Like if you don't know programming but are willing to learn start with Guido van Robot, move to Python and then join the... development team of... some piece of useful software written with python then... with time... move to C/C++ if you want more. Or if you have artistic talent... join the artwork team. Lists with needed things should exist and be VERY accessible
