| 2007-11-17 * After I backed up my important data, I started a new installation of Gutsy. I had been running Kubuntu on this system previously, but wanted to start with a completely clean slate. After starting the installation process, I selected to manually set the partitioning. I already have data on a portion of the drive dedicated to a Windows dual boot, so selecting to use the entire disk is not possible. I used hda2 as / and hda4 for /home with each being formatted and being 10GB and 32GB respectively. I used 512MB for swap. I've found this to be more than enough as this laptop has 1.5GB of RAM. |
