I remember trying my first linux install back when the kernel wasn't even to its 1.0 milestone, more than 10 years ago. Since then I've used various distributions, including Slackware, Caldera, Suse, RedHat, Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, maybe I forgot some. I enjoyed almost each one, differently from the preceding, as they all have/had their strengths and weaknesses...
I worked/studied on other unices too: FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD (kernel Driver programming), Solaris, HP-UX, AIX...
But I generally enjoy the linux experience more, for various personal reasons.
I run linux on almost all my computers, either at work (Hewlett-Packard), where I have a VMWare virtual machine for the corporate non-unix garbage^Wwork, and manage a bunch of other unix boxen (File & production build servers). At home too, where I have Ubuntu on the mini and gentoo on the others.

I also would like to put OpenWRT on an old netgear router. I would gladly work harder on all that, if only days where made of 240 hours...
