About Me

Well, what's to say? I've been using some form of Ubuntu since 6.10 (Which I updated to Lubuntu 10.04 a week before 10.10 came out) I've been off and on IRC since 2008, but now I'm on full time thanks to the help of irssi and screen.

I have volunteered in the IS department at a local hospital for over 400 hours over a 3 year period.

I've been a fair board member, CARTeens instructor, Jr Leader, and club president in 4-H with 6 years of self-determined projects on computers.

Community Participation

IRC

I'm currently helping out in the #lubuntu and #xubuntu IRC channels and hope to continue to do so and also learn from the others in there.

Part of being in the Lubuntu community, I understand the role of Catalysts and also OP for our channels.

I'm in quite a few channels, but I can usually be found in one of the following Ubuntu channels:

  1. #ubuntu-us-oh
  2. #lubuntu
  3. #xubuntu
  4. #kubuntu
  5. #xubuntu-devel
  6. #lubuntu-offtopic
  7. #xubuntu-offtopic
  8. #kubuntu-offtopic
  9. #ubuntu-beginners
  10. #ubuntu-beginners-team
  11. #ubuntu-youth

And you can find me in other random freenode channels.

ISO Testing

http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/htdocs/testcases/img/logo.png

As part of the Lubuntu and Xubuntu teams, I do ISO testing and bug reporting and get to work some great people in both communities. I do firmly believe there is a place for both flavors.

US Ohio LoCo

As a member of the Ohio Local Community, I attend the local Ubuntu Hour regularly, hangout in our IRC channel and attend other LoCo events. I hope to attend OLF and as many other statewide events as I can!

Ubuntu Beginners Team

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BeginnersTeam?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=btlogo.gif

I am in the process of becoming an Ubuntu Beginners Team member and by the mentorship of bioterror, do think I will become one in time. I am in the process of guiding people along the process of getting mentors in the team and joining the Ubuntu community by setting up Launchpad, a wiki page, getting identified with the focus groups, and setting up their nick on IRC.

Zenix

During 2011, I had the honor of working with BodhiZazen, whom I didn't fully know at the time, on Zenix as the main tester and forum mod. It was with this experience that I decided to help Xubuntu with ISO testing and later with Lubuntu after they got official support. My thanks to the Zenix team with starting me on the path to testing and what I learned with them.

Future Aim In Community

I will keep on helping in IRC, ISO testing, our Local Community, UBT and learning even more so I can help in more areas. I also plan to get people I know using something in the Ubuntu family! I believe the 4-H motto fits here too, "To make the best better"
