Joining the Team
Joining the team is a fairly easy process, provided that you have patience.
- Prospective members must have a light to moderate understanding of Ubuntu and/or Linux in general to be considered.
- Prospective members must be active in the team for at least a month before they can be considered as possible members.
- Prospective members must have around 300+ posts to be considered.
- Prospective members must have been registered on the forums for a while (3-4 months is good) to be considered.
- Prospective members must be appointed by a existing team member to a popular vote in front of the team that is to occur at every meeting.
Prospective members are to abide by the rules defined on the page Rules
- Prospective members will not be considered for a period of no less than two months after committing a serious offense against the UA team, in any team location, that may, did, will, or should require intervention of the administrators of those areas and that warrants severe punishment (example: A ban on IRC).
Prospective members may be appointed by any person on the team, and at any time before a meeting, as long as it is not directly before one. Prospective members are to be nominated on the Meetings page.
You can be active in the team by hanging out in our IRC channel, #ubuntuforums-unanswered on irc.freenode.net. Get to know some of the existing members, we don't bite :). This will also help you get a feel for how the team is structured and how it works internally.
If you have any questions about the joining process, feel free to ask the users of #ubuntuforums-unanswered.
