Ubuntu App Developer Blog: The versioning of the Ubuntu UI Toolkit
Zoltán Balogh tells us of UITK version 1.3. Previously the UITK targeted touch devices, but with this version it will support not just any screen size; but also keyboard & mouse (missing from prior versions). Lots of bug fixes are included; and the API will be supported for 1 minor release, so until 1.5 at a minimum.

Canonical Design Team: Autopilot: benefits of early release
Carla Berkers details the design process for Autopilot, an OpenStack tool that allows users to easily create a cloud platform. She writes that the development team will be celebrating another release of Autopilot this month, and has promised to refine existing features in addition to continuing development.

Bryan Quigley: Ubuntu 16.04 LiveCD Memory Usage Compared
Bryan Quigley has conducted an analysis of memory usage among various flavor versions of Ubuntu 16.04. He concludes that while Lubuntu is the most efficient in terms of memory usage, he also asserts that memory limited users should change flavors rather than changing to a 32-bit version.
