A new era for the Ubuntu community team, or business as usual

David Planella informs the community that now Jono Bacon has stepped down as Community Manager, a new era in Ubuntu begins, and that for his former team it will be business as usual. He says that although there will be changes, the weekly Q&A Ubuntu on Air session will continue. David ends by reminding us of the the Ubuntu Online Summit that will take place between June 10th-12th.

The Fridge: Alternate Meeting Channel

José Antonio Rey informs us that due to an increase in IRC meetings an alternate channel called #ubuntu-meeting-2 has been opened, and that the Technical Board were the first to use the new channel. José gives an email address and an IRC channel for teams to use to schedule their team meetings.

The Fridge: Renewed call for 12:00 UTC Membership Board Nominees

Elizabeth K. Joseph reminds us that at the end of April there was a call for nominations to the Membership Board. She says that, although some nominations have been received, they have all been for the 22:00 UTC board. Elizabeth recaps on the requirements for the position and says that without sufficient people to run the 12:00 UTC session it is possible that there may have to be a modified membership application process for the APAC region.

Jamie Strandboge: Application isolation with AppArmor – part IV

Jamie Strandboge writes about the improvements to AppArmor in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS including mediation of signals and ptrace, policy updates, and the python rewrite of userspace tools. Jamie lists some things that he like to see done for Ubuntu 14.10, saying that some of the bug fixes will be backported to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Inayaili de Léon Persson completes the series on making ubuntu.com resposive by writing about how to handle responsive images. She takes the various image formats and tells us how each of them was handled. Inayaili says that, despite visible improvements, there are plenty of things left to explore including the use of an asset server which is currently being worked on.
