New Team: Xubuntu Testers

  • " At the last Xubuntu meeting, we decided that we needed a dedicated team working on ensuring that Xubuntu and the Xubuntu ISOs are well tested. As such, I'd like to introduce everyone to Jim Campbell who will be leading this new team. If you are interested in finding out more or even helping out, you can visit their launchpad page at https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-testers . There is work also under way on the wiki to make sure getting involved is easy at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Xubuntu/Testing"

Linspire to be Based on Kubuntu, Ubuntu First New Distro for Click and Run

Linspire announced that they will be switching to base their distribution off Ubuntu. With their polished KDE desktop this makes Linspire the latest in the impressive list of operating systems based off Kubuntu.

It was also announced that Linspire's Click and Run install programme would be added to the Ubuntu archive, giving users of all Ubuntu distributions easy access to a large range of free and proprietry software.
