He notes that there were some difficulties in hearing sessions in past remote participation, but those issues should be fixed by having everyone use their own microphones and webcams. He also discusses how the use of Hangouts and IRC will allow more users to be able to participate, and help retain personal connections despite not being face-to-face. http://www.jonobacon.org/2013/02/26/on-moving-to-an-online-ubuntu-developer-summit/ === Jono Bacon: XDA Developers and Ubuntu Touch === Jono Bacon thanks the XDA Developers who have been working on porting Ubuntu Touch during the Ubuntu Touch Port-o-thon, which aims to bring Ubuntu images to more devices. Bacon writes that there was a great response on the XDA forums, and as a result Ubuntu has been ported to several new devices. Jono Bacon: On Moving To An Online Ubuntu Developer Summit
Jono Bacon discusses the move to an online-only Ubuntu Developer Summit, and shares some of the benefits that he sees in the new format. He notes that there were some difficulties in hearing sessions in past remote participation, but those issues should be fixed by having everyone use their own microphones and webcams. He also discusses how the use of Hangouts and IRC will allow more users to be able to participate, and help retain personal connections despite not being face-to-face.
