Rationale

Use cases

Scope

  • Is it chargeable? Just enough for server costs or for Ubuntu funds?
  • Ubuntu Users or the whole world?
  • Would it be available as a package for others or not?
  • What Features - Webspace? Email/Calendaring? Photos? Music?

Design

  • Could use Hula (when at 1.0) for mail and calendaring
    • Email (with IMAP server)
    • Calendar (with CalDAV server)
    • Address Book (possibly as an LDAP directory)

This way Evolution could be set up to use the IMAP, CalDAV and LDAP services and all personal information would be available both on the desktop and online at any time.   • iFolder for file sharing - not sure if it could used on a large scale
  • Obviously powered by Ubuntu Software
