| I am a German currently exiled in the UK, after having spend quite some time in Texas. I am a Dipl.-Inf. from the Technical University of Darmstadt, and have obtained a MSc in Computer Science/Telecommunications from the University of Texas at Dallas. Currently I am finishing my LLB(Hons) with The Open University. My occupations in the IT world have been broad, with functions containing support, development, project and product management, as well as marketing. Currently I focus on IT in Education. I am also an Associate Lecturer and Teaching Fellow with the Open University. Unix/Linux has always been part of my life in IT. I worked extensively with HPUX and solaris and had my first steps of Linux in the middle of the 90s. About Me
I am a German currently exiled in the UK, after having spend quite some time in Texas.
I have used in the past primarily RedHat, and SUSE, but since the release of Hoary, I use (U|K|Edu)buntu exclusively.
(U|K|Edu)buntu
I am interested to contribute my skills and experience wherever it is helpful. Currently I am helping with answering other users' questions, translating and bug reporting. However, I am also interested in participating with bug fixing and development.
I am also a member of the [https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-de.org kubuntu-de.org] team, where I work on translations among other things a translation of the UWN into German.
Other Open Projects
I am involved in [http://www.pgdp.net/ Distributed Proofreaders] and [http://www.gutenberg.org Project Gutenberg].
I have started a open source project, which in the future should give schools an alternative to proprietary Information Management System.
