Summary
Perform structured testing of the Ubuntu desktop on the Live CD or post-install. These steps should be followed during the distro-specific part of ["../LiveCDSession"], ["../LiveCDInstall"] or ["../AlternateInstall"].

Post-install testing
Follow these steps on an installed system.

Extended install testing
Installing and testing Thunderbird.
Click on Applications then on Add/Remove... from the menu list that appeared.
Select All available applications from the drop down box top right.
Click in the search box at the top of the newly opened window. Type Thunderbird into it.
- Click on the check box that is in-front of the Mozilla Thunderbird Mail/News title in the upper right section.
Click on Apply Changes Lower right.
Click on Apply in the newly opened window. The Application is now being installed.
Proceed to testing: Open Thunderbird from the Applications/Internet section.
- Fill in the details of your email account (this is normally provided by your email provider)
- Send a test mail to a colleague and ask for a reply to ensure that send and receive are both working.
- If you have an GPG/PGP Key add Enigimail from Applications/Add/Remove.. Now restart Thunderbird and try sending a signed email.
- Save a draft mail (this is more important if your using a laptop and have no connection, that way you can send it latter when you do)
- Delete a mail.
