Device Drivers

1. WLAN Support

   1. Click network manager icon on panel
   2. From drop down list, select a WLAN (802.11a) network listed
   3. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.
   4. From drop down list, select a WLAN (802.11b) network listed
   5. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.
   6. From drop down list, select a WLAN (802.11g) network listed
   7. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.
   8. From drop down list, select a WLAN (802.11n) network listed
   9. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.

2. WiMax Support

   1. Click network manager icon on panel

   2. From drop down list, select a WiMax (IEEE 802.16) network listed

   3. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.

3. WWAN Support

   1. Click network manager icon on panel
   2. From drop down list, select a WWAN (Cellular) network listed
   3. Launch Browser applet and enter www.cnn.com in address bar.

4. SDIO Support

   1. Connect a USB card reader and insert an SD card. Confirm media is mounted and read/write
   2. If device has onboard SD slot, insert SD card. Confirm media is mounted and read/write

5. Touchscreen Support

   1. Single tap on screen to; Select document or application icon, Drop Down menu expand, dialog close/maximise/minimise, and Ok/Cancel buttons.
   2. Double tap on screen to; Launch applications, Open document in preferred application, Select all text in field, minimise application window.
   3. Double tap and drag on screen to; Drag selected icon, Grab and move horizontal and vertical scroll sliders, Open a multi-select box.
   4. Slide finger across screen to; Horizonally/Vertically scroll document
   5. Slide two fingers together and apart on screen to; Zoom document, Zoom webpage, Zoom Images.

6. GPS Support

   1. Confirm location information is displayed.
   2. Confirm map position is updated as you move.
   3. Confirm turn-by-turn instructions are delivered

7. BlueTooth Support

   1. Connect Bluetooth mouse
   2. Connect Bluetooth keyboard
   3. Connect Bluetooth headset
   4. Connect Bluetooth enabled camera
   5. Connect Bluetooth enable MP3 player

8. Graphics – support x.org 7.1 or newer plus x11 2d driver, mesa 3d driver, agpgart kernel module, DRM kernel module and kernel frame buffer driver

   1. Run command dpkg -s xorg and confirm package is above 7.1

   2. Confirm 3d graphic are supported (opengl screensaver)
   3. Confirm 2d graphics are supported (desktop environment is loaded)
   4. Play video
   5. Play game

9. Video Decode Acceleration

   1. Load video from web (youtube), confirm smooth playback
   2. Load video from local file, comfirm smooth playback
   3. Load hi-res video from file, confirm smooth playback

10. USB Client Support

    1. Plug device into PC via USB, confirm mount on desktop
    2. Confirm read/write access to device filesystem

11. Poulsbo chipset support (PCI IDs)

    1. Confirm device contains Poulsbo chipset
    2. Smoke test graphics acceleration
    3. Smoke test 3d graphics support

12. HD Audio – kernel patch to support chipset and ALSA codec driver

    1. Load audio from web (shoutcast,youtube,npr), confirm smooth playback
    2. Load audio from local file, comfirm smooth playback
    3. Load hi-fi audio from file, confirm smooth playback

13. USB Camera Support

    1. Plug in USB camera, confirm image capture
    2. Confirm support for stills
    3. Confirm support for movie
