A collection of random test ideas for testing the desktop outside the 'common script'.

  • Install and run some applications you might not normally use
  • Screen reader functionality

    • From System -> Preferences -> Preferred Applications set the Orca screen reader to start at boot

    • Log out from your session and back in and confirm that desktop strings are spoken out loud
  • Keyboard navigation
    • Pick an application and check that all it's functionality can be accessed through the keyboard
  • Open a large number of tabs or windows
  • Start many different user sessions at once
  • Copy some big files
  • Try connecting to a wireless network and switching from wired to wireless
