Summary

Testing the basic functionality of a Live CD.

Procedure

  1. Boot using the desktop CD
  2. At the first menu select 'Check CD for defects'
    • Check to see whether or not the logo and throbber are centered if not report a bug about usplash ideally with a picture of it
    • Wait for self-test to complete; reboot
  3. Optional: Read through the help index and check for accuracy / readability
  4. Optional: Choose a language from the F3 menu or an accessibility setting from the F5 menu
  5. Select 'Start or install'
  6. Verify that the system has started at the correct resolution with any settings you specified at boot
  7. Desktop flavour specific section:

  8. Random testing: take 5 minutes to perform some less common testing (see [:Testing/Cases/RandomDesktop:Random Testing Ideas]).
