Procedure

  1. Boot using the desktop CD
    • On first boot a list of languages will appear to choose from - select one (vary your choices if possible) and press Enter
  2. At the first menu select Check CD for defects

    • Check to see whether or not the logo and throbber are centered; if not, report a bug on usplash, ideally with a picture of it
    • Wait for self-test to complete; reboot
  3. Optional: Read through the help index and check for accuracy / readability
  4. Optional: Choose an accessibility setting from the F5 menu
  5. Select Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer

  6. Verify that the system has started at the correct resolution with any settings you specified at boot
