We cannot list all hardware that's compatible with Ubuntu - the list alone would be several megabytes, and it's growing constantly.

However, since Ubuntu is a Linux distribution, the [http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO.html Linux Hardware Compatibility HOWTO] is a list of all hardware that it will work with (with the exception of architectural requirements, see SupportedArchitectures). There is also a partial listing of supported/unsupported hardware in the HardwareSupport wiki page.

Graphics support is covered by xorg (XFree86 in Warty). It should run with the vast majority of mice, and with most AGP video cards.

If you don't need graphics, you don't need to worry about !XFree86 compatibility: the installation process doesn't use graphics.
