The Team is doing good things for Ubuntu, that I have no clue ~ how to do, so not chipping in- I left it to the pro's! |

...I'm an 46 yr older young guy, that enjoys goofing around & learnin` kewl stuff.
BR I kinda had a knack for straightning out my friends broke microshaft pc's
-tho- with no schoolin` under my belt or paper hanging on my wall, I felt to go get some of that. I felt it more, soon after getting introduced to Linux, then Ubuntu!BR So, I'm only now - heading into a tech school, "[http://www.mitchelltech.com/cf/Academics/Programs/cst.cfm Mitchell Technical Institute]", for a 2yr course, of "Computer Systems Technology", and also look foward, for the hope of getting cert`fied in "Ubuntu/Linux", and somehow ~ someway...chiping in...with FOSS & The Ubuntu community.BR I'm pretty much "blown away", by everyone's vast knowledge, in this and many other areas, so I'm feeling kinda small and looking for a place to fit in & do something, to help out and/or just pitch in and have some laughs!!
I have enjoyed brakin crashin & trying to fix my Ubuntu box! Practice & re-doing, is how I learn it! I'm glad to notice that happens less, as the months go by ~ Thanks To All, here & at the forums!!!BR ..Cause ~ It's one of the kewlest learnin' experiances i've had in years!! I realize there's TON'S of stuff to learn & know, that just comes easy~ with good support from mostly everyone!!BR
I got approved and left, [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MarketingTeam/GetInvolved The Marketing Team], in hopes of helping out. I wanted flyers & such ~ for myself, so that was the place to find info...but that was about all I could do. The Team is doing good things for Ubuntu, that I have no clue ~ how to do, so not chipping in- I left it to the pro's! I've Also [https://launchpad.net/codeofconduct/1.0.1 Signed The Ubuntu Code of Conduct] June 06, which moved me, from 'dude' ~ to ~ "Ubuntero". I don't usually sign papers right off, but, it's all good, so i done did it! I'm trying to help with bugs, and whatever else. It a good learning experiance - to do - things...so, I'm trying. Currently, I'm surfin` around ~ trying to get up to speed, on things. There's ALLOT, of material to read & look at, & absorb! Then there's more to find after that! Ha. I'm trying to get a handle on python, C++, & understand W3C, & for now, just read some fun things about Ruby. I've made webpages years ago, and really need & want to ~ 'upgrade' my knowledge, to todays, codes, scripts & tools. I haven't done presentations, more often I'm, "1 on 1", with a client. I've found, I'ld like to have a leaflet, or something "written"- to leave "in their hands"...& as a "reminder". If a new user has questions or a problem{as I did}, it would be a help to have one of my fliers handy, with a tele #, or E-mail addy!
The material is out there ~ So, It will mostly be copy & pasted stuff - "already approved & used", cause it's on the wiki or site. Thats all kinda quicker too! ;)BR If I saved & uploaded right, Here's 2 drafts to grab,BR attachment:Brochure BR [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BrochureCopy BrochureCopy page, to pick it apart], attachment:Leaflet BR [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Leaflet,Flyer,Flier,Circular A new wiki page, Leaflet,Flyer,Flier,Circular] I've found all the artwork, here- around the wiki, that I'll think to need for brochure's & fliers~ but thats your choice. I've right-clicked- on most any kewl pic & icon, then adding it to my draft. I Want To...
