About Me

I've been a Unix user/developer since 1997. After starting with a copy of Slackware that I got out of the back of a Unix book, I learned Solaris while working at Sun and then switched to Ubuntu in late 2005.

Community Involvement

Since early 2008, I have been heavily involved in the Ubuntu Forums and have been a member of the Beginner Team and Unanswered Posts teams since April of 2008. I generally spend several hours a day answering posts in the Absolute Beginners Talk, General Help and Hardware & Laptops forums. I also have an unhealthy obsession with laptop power savings and performance and have written the following related tutorials.

I have also made it a personal mission to convert all my friends and family to Ubuntu and help transition them to the OS and community in general.

I can usually be found in #ubuntuforums-beginners channel on irc.freenode.net.

Future Plans

  • Get more involved in the Argentina LoCo

  • Help cleanup some of the documentation on the Ubuntu Wiki
  • Continue to help user on the Ubuntu Forums
  • Finish designing and writing software for laptop power savings detection and automatic configuration
