About Me

I've been a Unix user/developer since 1997. After starting with a copy of Slackware that I got out of the back of a Unix book, I learned Solaris while working at Sun and then switched to Ubuntu in late 2005. A much more in depth "About Me" can be found in my Ubuntu community interview.

Community Involvement

Since early 2008, I have been heavily involved in the Ubuntu Forums and have been a member of the Beginner Team and Unanswered Posts teams since April of 2008. I became a member of the Ubuntu Forums Staff in July of 2008. I generally spend several hours a day answering posts in the Absolute Beginners Talk, General Help and Hardware & Laptops forums. I also have an unhealthy obsession with laptop power savings and performance and have written the following (semi-)related tutorials.

• HOWTO: Automatically update manually installed NVidia drivers after kernel updates

• HOWTO: Improve battery life on a laptop

• HOWTO: XPS m1330 power savings

• Ubuntu with 4GB+ of memory

I generally attend all the ubuntu-ar events here in Argentina and have setup an informal Ubuntu Happy Hour at a popular bar here in Buenos Aires. I can usually be found in #ubuntuforums-beginners channel on irc.freenode.net.

Future Plans

• Continue to be involved in the Argentina LoCo

• Continue to help users on the Ubuntu Forums
