If you're wondering which format you should use, I recommend MP4 for windows and mac (with quicktime) and OGG for linux and ubuntu.

If you need a bittorrent client, deluge and azureus are good choices for ubuntu. To install azureus, just do:

sudo aptitude install azureus

Or to get deluge, install [http://download.deluge-torrent.org/stable/deb/feisty/deluge-torrent_0.5.1-0zachtib1_i386.deb this package] (or [http://download.deluge-torrent.org/stable/deb/feisty/deluge-torrent_0.5.1-0zachtib1_amd64.deb this] for AMD64). To get azureus on windows, go to [http://azureus.sf.net their website].
