 * We don't want to translate Gnome packages for now, as they won't be accepted upstream. So please just focus on non-Gnome packages.
 * We don't want to translate Breezy, Hoary, and Dapper, as they are going to be so old. Here are the lists of packages on Persian locale of distros which we want to do the translation for:

 * You should read [http://www.persianacademy.net/fa/dastourkhat.aspx Persian Academy Guideline (دستور خط فارسی)] first of all. The online version has encoding problems; uses Arabic Yeh, etc. You can buy the printed version from their bookstore on ''3rd avenue, Bokharest St., Tehran''.
 * Also it's better to read discussions on the web, mailing lists, bugzilla's, etc. [FIXME: links needed]
 * Study the current translations, looking at the ''glossary'' and links.
 * Then you can start contributing. You can get started by reviewing other's translations, to learn, and to improve the quality of their translations. You can also ask questions on the mailing list or on the IRC channel.
 * Please first read TeamRules carefully.

Ubuntu Persian Translation

About the Team

Ubuntu Persian Translation (UPT) team is a group of translators, which like to translate Ubuntu Linux to Persian. If you are interested, follow on to see how you can help us.

Please note that we are only a translation team. Many of interested people in Persian translation projects don't live in Iran, or don't have enough spare time to attend local meetings, help end-users, etc. Please just focus on translation issues in this team.

Fortunately, ubuntu-ir, the Ubuntu Iranian Local Community team has been set up, and their website is [http://ubuntu-ir.org/ ubuntu-ir.org]. Please help the Iranian Local Team to attract end-users, set up local events, etc. Find more information at IranianTeam page.
