Team Information

The New York State Ubuntu Local Community Team is a group of volunteers and united by the operating system Ubuntu. The team is a decentralized team that empowers local groups to hold events. We provide a common hub to share ideas, resources and experiences.

As a team we also participate in global Ubuntu events such as User Days, Developer Week, and Bug Jams.

The New York State Local Community Team is an officially approved team.

Getting Involved

Would you like to join the group?

Team Needs

  • Secondary contact - the team contact acts as a conduit to the larger global Ubuntu community and the second contact is in place in the case of the primary contact being unreachable over an extended period of time

  • Marketing lead - coordinate marketing events across the state

  • Event coordinator - coordinate events across the state

  • Team Scribe - write team reports monthly and post IRC meeting logs
