| = MattOquist = I live in Nashua, NH, USA, and I've been running Linux for 7 years. I started with Red Hat and I've toured through Fedora, Mandrake, and Gentoo (long stop there) - and now I'm running only Ubuntu. == Contracting for Canonical == I have a contract with Canonical to develop an online CD-generation system for [http://theopencd.org/ TheOpenCD] and derivatives. You can check out a description of the project [http://www.theopencd.org/index.php?option=com_static&staticfile=orchard/orchard.html here], or even poke around my actual development box [http://mojo.yi.org:8888/orchard/ here]. (Obviously the dev box will continually be in various stages of working and not...) |

| * Linux --> Education - * want to see Linux replace MS as the platform that dominates education, and I think the skolelinux and k12ltsp projects are beginning to make increasingly long strides in that direction. But k12ltsp is repackaged FC3 - RPM based. Ubuntu can and should do better. And that means... * LTSP on Ubuntu - I'm excited to see it when it arrives. I hope that I can use Ubuntu in a small Linux-in-Education conference I'm helping with this summer... |
* Linux --> Education - I want to see Linux replace MS as the platform that dominates education. Edubuntu has driven LTSP development forward and we now have a solid, aesthetically-pleasing, thin client solution with long-sought features such as pluggable devices that "just work". |
