Requirements

  1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/scim-pinyin, available for all supported architectures

  2. Rationale:

    • Although there have other choice for Simplified Chinese users to use native language ,like fcitx ,we recommendusing scim for default input method .

  3. Security:

    • No security histroy.

  4. Quality assurance:

    • scim-pinyin is well maintained as a sub project of scim-im.org.
    • No critial bugs found in ubuntu and debian.
    • Other distros like SuSE Mandriva have shipit as default chinese IMengine for scim.

  5. Standards compliance:

    • The package meets debian-policy and FHS.

  6. Dependencies:

    • All in universe.
    • scim
