Requirements

  1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/scim-chewing, available for all supported architectures

  2. Rationale:

    • Even though there are input methods for Traditional Chinese such as gcin and xcin, it's better to have scim-chewing for scim which will be a default input method for CJK users.

  3. Security:

    • No security histroy.
  4. Quality assurance:

    • scim-chewing is well maintained as a sub project of scim-im.org and chewing.csie.net.
    • chewing is also ported to many other OS, like MacOSX, MS-Windows, and to IIIMF and JMCCE.
    • No critial bugs found in ubuntu and debian.
    • Other distros like SuSE Mandriva have shipit as default chinese IMengine for scim.

    • The package meets debian-policy and FHS.
