Basic Stuff

Note: any similarity between JeffreyElkner, MatthewGallagher, MacoMorgan and my page is purely coincidental.

IRC: lfaraone @ irc.freenode.net on #ubuntu and #olpc

Launchpad: https://launchpad.net/~lfaraone

Current OSs: Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora

Other Stuff

I've been using Linux since 2002 , and actively involved in the Ubuntu Community since 2007.

Ubuntu Stuff

I started using Ubuntu since "edgy", and have tested all the betas of Ubuntu starting with Feisty. I currently I co-administer a Edubuntu lab of more than 20 computers.

I also work on a python graphics API called GASP ( see http://edge.launchpad.net/gasp-code ) which I am working to package for Ubuntu (well, really watching MatthewGallagher).

Community Involvement

I'm a member of the DC Ubuntu LoCo Team and YHSLUG. In the DCLoCo team I've helped promote Ubuntu via various installfests and bug sprints, as well as other community events.

I work in UbuntuBugControl as a triager, do 5-a-day, and help out in IRC.

I have been working with Debian to get the most recent builds of OLPC's Sugar ( handled by SugarTeam ) in intrepid, and have been finding and fixing bugs there.

Future Plans

# Squash more bugs # Get all of SugarLabs' software into Ubuntu # Engage Edubuntu team on above

Projects

Cool and Useful Stuff

Nothing yet.

Testimonials

  • SugarTeam: Luke has been doing valuable work testing Sugar, reporting and fixing bugs for Intrepid. I recommend him for Ubuntu membership. --MorganCollett, SugarTeam lead, Ubuntu member
