Currently testing: Dapper Drake Flight 3 (plus daily updates)

Current Issues

When resuming from hibernate everything seems to work fine except USB devices.

(Bug report [https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/29834 #29834])

UPDATE: Needs testing with static ip adressing. Lately I have only been on networks with dhcp.

Wireless nic does not get started correctly at boot. The interface is started according to ifconfig and has an ip address set (static ip address) but no connection.

Solution: The kernel routing table needs to get a default gateway set.

The side-effect of this bug is that during bootup when the ethernet nic is not used ntpd will try to connect on the wireless interface and will wait for timeout - about a minute or so.

Use of Fn + F5 to disable wireless after boot and quickly enabling it again by pressing same keys is a quick way to bring up the wireless nic and have the kernel routing table updated with default gateway settings.

The bug can be reproduced in both Ubuntu Hoary, Breezy and Dapper.

(Bug report [http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14805 #14805])

UPDATE: I could reproduce this bug in Dapper for the past two months. Though after installing Dapper Flight 3 I have not been able to reproduce it. Needs more testing before jumping to any conclusion.

Unplugging the AC power from the computer will make the computer freeze after about a minute. However, the opposite - going from battery to AC power - is no problem. The bug can be reproduced over and over again. Also, this is true for both Ubuntu Hoary and Breezy!

Noticeably, a test with the Linux distribution "Mandriva Limited 2005" showed that the problem does not exist in Mandriva Linux. The computer will not freeze when unplugged from AC power thereby isolating the problem to Debian/Ubuntu.

Note - I (Mike) don't see this at all. Bug duplicate (6108) updated.

Notes

* Only by manually enabling this.

** Turns off screen and when lid is opened the "lock screen" dialogue appears. I suppose the correct behavior would be for the computer to go to sleep or hibernate when lid is closed.
