Currently testing: Dapper Drake Flight 1 (plus daily updates)

Current Issues

UPDATE: Need some time and testing to see if this bug is present in Dapper

Unplugging the AC power from the computer will make the computer freeze after about a minute. However, the opposite - going from battery to AC power - is no problem. The bug can be reproduced over and over again. Also, this is true for both Ubuntu Hoary and Breezy!

Noticeably, a test with the Linux distribution "Mandriva Limited 2005" showed that the problem does not exist in Mandriva Linux. The computer will not freeze when unplugged from AC power thereby isolating the problem to Debian/Ubuntu.

Note - I (Mike) don't see this at all. Bug duplicate (6108) updated.

UPDATE: Need some time and testing to see if this bug is present in Dapper

Wireless nic does not get started correctly at boot. The interface is started according to ifconfig and has an ip address set (static ip address) but no connection.

The side-effect of this bug is that when the ethernet nic is not used ntpd will try to connect on the wireless interface and will wait for timeout - about a minute or so.

The bug can be reproduced in both Ubuntu Hoary and Breezy.

Use of Fn + F5 to disable wireless after boot and quickly enabling it again by pressing same keys is a quick way to bring up the wireless nic.

Notes

* Only by manually enabling this.

** Turns off screen and when lid is opened the "lock screen" dialogue appears. I suppose the correct behavior would be for the computer to go to sleep or hibernate when lid is closed.
