Notes

  • [1] Sleep troubles:

The laptop successfully sleeps if I use GPM to click the suspend option. It sometimes sleeps if I shut the lid. Somtimes it does nothing (misses the event I guess).

  • [2] Function Key Troubles:

The brightness adjsut keys can be used only once after the laptop has been started. E.g. turn on laptop -> brightness down (OK) -> Brightness up .... Nothing. Brightness down .... Nothing. They only work once. None of the other laptop function keys work. Ever

  • [3] SD Card Slot:

I had high hopes for [http://mmc.drzeus.cx/wiki/Linux/Drivers/sdhci]. Cards are successfully detected only if present while the laptop is turned on. Card insert/removal detection is problematic

  • [4] External Monitor

Using the i810switch utility works perfectly. I am unaware of any other easy means to enable the external monitor on this laptop.

  • [5] Bluetooth

Gnome-bluetooth-manager bails out with Traceback (most recent call last):

  • File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gnomebt/manager.py", line 274, in ?
    • BTManager ().main ()

    File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gnomebt/manager.py", line 85, in init

    • if not self.btctl.is_initialised():

gobject.GError: Can't get device id of hci0
