Nvidia binary driver

By default the Nvidias proprietary driver gives you a black screen on VT7, enter VT1 (CTRL+ALT+F1) and update your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add an "Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP" line in the "Section "Device" :

Suspend to RAM

add acpi_sleep=s3_bios to grub boot kernel options. Follow instructions in NvidiaLaptopBinaryDriverSuspend.
