Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 Issues
Hard drive constantly spins up/down: Although its not Dell-specific issue, it occurs on this model as well. See http://duopetalflower.blogspot.com/2008/04/harddrive-killer-bug-workaround-for.html for solution (read comments to that post!)
Suspend/Resume: worked out of the box, but USB devices and webcam were not working properly after suspend. To fix, add: SUSPEND_MODULES="ehci_hcd uvcvideo" to /etc/pm/config.d/WORKAROUND file (it may not exist - create it then). More info at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/211572. - Portrait display mode suport (with nVidia):
sudo nvidia-xconfig --randr-rotation
- Restart your X
Now you can rotate your display using xrandr or nvidia-settings (new menu entry will appear)
