Notes

Alps Touchpad Fix (This information applies to ALL Alps touchpads with kernel 2.6.12+):

Update: synaptics driver 0.14.3 was added to breezy which allows the Alps touchpad to be configured for side-scroll and double taps.

Additional Options need to be added to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf for the side scroll to be activated. Note the default Option values for an Alps touchpad will be different from synaptics because of the difference in sensitivity of the two devices.

If you have trouble compiling the 0.14.3 driver I can supply a patch to resolve the issue. I can also supply a list of default values appropriate for side-scroll and drag/double taps.

Suspend Fix Uncomment "ACPI_SLEEP=true" in /etc/default/acpi-support

Suggestions: When the laptop resumes from hibernation or suspention there are two very loud pc speaker beeps as the laptop resumes. It would be appropriate for the user to have a method of disabling the beeps through graphical means, or we could simply unload pcspkr module.

Fn Key + Esc correctly suspends the laptop after uncomment the line above.
