The HEL80 is similar to the [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/CompalHEL81 HEL81]. The main differences are the Nvidia Geforce Go 7600, the presence of a web cam and a finger printer and four extra media buttons.

Compal sells the HEL80 with two different screens a glossy WXGA+ (1280x1024) and a matte WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screen. The laptop used for testing has the latter screen.

  2. These keys are located on the left. They have a double meaning, but that is because rumour has it that Compal wanted to create a stand- alone media player, outside of an OS. But that idea was never realized. Hence, the Mode on/ off key has no special function.
