Notes

Resolution

FEISTY ONLY::To achieve 1280x800 you can either install the xserver-xorg-video-intel or 915resolution packages. I would suggest xserver-xorg-video-intel since that driver will allow you to use the external monitor and composite out.

GUTSY:: Correct driver is installed. Resolution defaults to 1024x768, however, 1280x800 is available in the list and works. No need to install anything.

Wireless NIC

FEISTY::You must install the bcm43xx-fwcutter package or you can download the windows driver from the Acer support site and use the ndiswrapper.

GUTSY::Restricted driver manager will notify you that bmc43xx-fwcutter is available when you reboot after installing. No real other choice except for ndiswrapper with a windows driver. Both options are closed source, so pick the lesser of two evils.

Webcam

FEISTY::Nothing works. linuxuvc lists support for the bison camera, but even compiling newest build doesn't work.

GUTSY::Hit or miss. I've installed GUTSY 5 times on this laptop and it has worked for the last 3 of those installs.
