Current Issues (with Dapper Drake)

Screen should have been 1280x800 resolution and 60hz, instead it's listed as 1280x768 and 61hz. It looks good, though, so it may just be reporting the numbers incorrectly.

Battery detection is better than in Breezy, it knows when it's AC vs battery now, but the percent always says 0% (it occurs to me that it could be saying 0% used, I'll keep an eye on it and update this note if that's the case)

Closing the lid now does nothing. This worked perfectly in Breezy.

Wireless card still does not work, but (unlike Breezy) it detected the existence of a wireless card in Dapper.

Touchpad scrolling - nothing works, and attempting to scroll down acts as if I right-clicked the mouse

After successfully Coming out of Hibernate, I get an error that says "HAL failed to hibernate" Everything seems functional, according to the gnome FAQ, HAL does not shut off the hard drive since it will turn itself down to extremely low power use; maybe the message is related to that.

Notes

At the "boot:" prompt (via the installation CD), boot with command "linux vga=771"

I've installed both the 32-bit (standard) Breezy as well as the 64-bit Breezy. The testing results here are based on the 32-bit version. I will note any functional differences between 32 and 64 bit versions once I go back and fully test the 64-bit version. The Dapper Drake testing was done on the 64-bit version

The Launch keys are configurable under System->Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts. Where I have said they are "configurable", that means they are undefined out-of-box, but work after you manually configure them.

Sleep/standby seems quirky, however by closing the laptop and opening it again, that seems to reset everything.

Hibernate almost works; the system comes back alive, but keyboard input is not recognized. (a bit of a showstopper, but hopefully something that is easily fixed)

I did a not-so-thorough performance test to compare the difference between Breezy 32-bit and 64-bit ubuntu/imagemagick by running imagemagick's convert utility on the same set of 85 jpg images. It took 94 seconds on 32-bit, it took 77 seconds on 64-bit (an 18% performance boost)
