The following is a generic view of the Ubuntu release schedule, the kernels delivered, and the support time frames. Note the * for the 12.04 release. 12.04 is an LTS release which delivers 12.04.x point releases that do introduce newer hardware enablement kernels. Please refer to the 12.04.x Ubuntu Kernel Support diagram in a later section for more details.
