About
Im a 29 year old living in Apex N.C. USA. I am currently going to Wake Tech Community College studying Bio Manufacturing. I have been using linux for about 2 years and Ubuntu since Hoary.
Interest
I am an active participant on #ubuntu, #ubuntu+1, and #ubuntu-offtopic channels on irc.freenode.net. I started helping proir to December 1 2005, but have been helping alot more since December 1 2005 in #ubuntu. I am a member of the Ubuntu New User Network. I subscribed to sounder, ubuntu-doc, ubuntu-users, launchpad-users and the ubuntu-devel mailing lists. I have tested Breezy and Dapper before they were released and have been filing bugs and helping other users file bugs that they find. I have been ordering alot of Ubuntu cds from shipit to hand out at school.
Contributions
- added/fixed some of ubotu's factoids, anything from making them shorter, adding some, and fixing wrong facts or fixing broken links.
- Helped users install Java, Compile apps., Fix broken sources lists, Upgrade to newer release of Ubuntu (stable and unstable), and more.
- File Bug reports
Some Wiki pages I have edited/wrote [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ww2dhowto WW2D] [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DistroLogic Distro Logic] [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FirefoxNewVersion FireFox]
I wrote the ww2d instructions on my personal website for a user. He didnt understand the instructions so I wrote the step by step for him. I than turned it into a Wiki for everyone to use.
Here are a few people I have helped
The name of the Ubuntu user was changed to "usr" for privacy reasons. This help was on Gedit not opening /etc/apt/sources.list. Found it to be a bug in Ubuntu 5.10 where you need to put " " around the command. There have been alot more users I have helped like this, I was going to give another example but most of the time I ask them to join #ubuntu-offtopic so I can help them without disrupting the main support channel.

I had an Ubuntu user from my lug call me with: "i have a dell notebook and Upgrading from breezy to dapper and its not working it gets about half way and than errors". I went and met him for lunch and took a look at his upgrade. Found that he didnt have the right repository list (he was missing key repos) so i got him a good repo list and ran through the upgrade with him.
Here is one user i help with a sources.list file problem. Once again the name has been changed to "usr" to insure privacy. This one ended with him leaving he pmed me and said thank you for helping him.

In The Future
I am working on my programming, so i can start writing/packaging/maintaining Ubuntu programs/apps. I also am working on my coding so i can try to join the launchpad-bugs team so i can help fix bugs. I am looking into starting a Ubuntu-nc team on launchpad for members of the community that use Ubuntu/Kubuntu to beable to get help locally, or just to beable to ask questions.
