Linux/OSS Experience
I started using Linux around the late-2.4, early-2.6 days (my first compiled kernel was 2.6.0-test11). I started with a KNOPPIX HD-INSTALL, but soon started trying other distros --- TOO MANY other distros. I can attest to trying every general desktop Linux distros there is. I mostly, however, used Debian, until Ubuntu Warty was released. I instantly fell in love with Ubuntu, and registered my login name at UbuntuForums.org. I offered the administrator if he needed any help, and he provided me with moderator status. I started giving suggestions to the forums administrator about the layout and moderation policies, and soon was promoted to Super Moderator, as I am today.

- Though I've only been using Linux for a relatively short time, I've tried to incorporate it in all my computing tasks -- I use Linux LiveCD's instead of Windows at school, and also spread their use. In USFirst Robotics, I am the project leader for the Linux programming tools, and provide community support for them. I'm currently developing an embedded Linux coprocessor for use on these robotics. As with all my projects, the community is a big piece, and I spend a lot of time offering help to the community.
