| A fledgling Ubuntu Hour has also been set up in Cork and the location for this is [[http://www.doylecollection.com/locations/cork_hotels/the_river_lee_hotel.aspx|The River Lee Hotel]] (Formerly Jurys Hotel), Cork. The next one is due to take place on 29th of September 2010, at 18:00. All are welcome so please feel free to drop in at any time during the course of the evening. == Upcoming Events == === Global Jam === === OSS Barcamp === The Ubuntu Ireland LoCo are organsing for a 2nd year in a row and for the second time this year, OSSbarcamp. This is an un-conference style event taking place in UCD over 2 days on the 25th and 26th of September, 2010. It's a free and open event for everyone to attend. There will be talks, discussions, LPI exams and lots more going on over the weekend. This event gives advocates an opportunity to discuss and talk about projects they working on or are passionate about. It is also a great way for attendees to learn more about Open Source. More details on [[http://ossbarcamp.com/|ossbarcamp.com]] === Release Parties / Geeknic === ==== Maverick Meerkat Release Party ==== The Release Party will begin at Jimmy Chung's Chinese Buffet, 8 Eden Quay, Dublin 1 at 13:30 local time on Sunday 10th of October. After food we will move to The Market Bar, Fade Street, Dublin 2 at approximately 15:30. This is where we will keep an eye on Maverick Meerkats release using the available WiFi. The plan is to have a fun pub quiz in the market bar and, release willing, we will also provide help to anyone who wants a hand installing Ubuntu.
