The Indiana Ubuntu Local Community Team

Introduction

The Indiana Ubuntu Local Community Team is a group of Ubuntu users and enthusiasts from around the state of Indiana that are here to help each other learn the many ropes of Ubuntu. We are a great place for newcomers to seek help and education.

We also work to advocate free and open source solutions where possible, especially Ubuntu.

Past Events

• We had a booth at the [http://ussg.iu.edu/2007/4/5/linuxfest-2007 IU LinuxFest] on April 11, 2007. Team Co-founder Simón A. Ruiz gave a presentation, "Learning with Linux at every Desk", about the work he did with Ubuntu at Bloomington High School North.

• We had a booth at the [http://pages.crosstechmedia.com/WebSite/Index.aspx?C=70000087&S=50000090 Indianapolis ITEC Conference] June 27-28, 2007

• Several team members met up at the [http://www.ohiolinux.org/ Ohio LinuxFest] on Saturday, September 29, 2007. We had our first ever in-person meeting and discussed what we need to do to become an approved LoCo team

• The [http://www.openmindsconference.org K-12 Open Minds Conference] took place Tuesday thru Thursday, October 9-11, 2007 in Indianapolis.
